If you have ever heard yourself say, “Surely there is more to life than this,” rest assured, you are not alone. Getting caught up in the day-to-day routine, it can be easy to feel as though you have nothing more to give, and yet there is so much you want to do to impact the world. Good news! For those who are willing to get out of the proverbial boat and trust in God’s ability to do miracles, there is more, so much more!
In Willing to Walk on Water, Caroline Barnett helps you identify what you were created to do—unveiling your passions, gifts, and callings—and provides practical ways of integrating that purpose into your daily life. Drawing on real life experiences, Caroline points out two things that will be required: willingness and availability. Are you willing to trust God to do the impossible through you? Will you make yourself available to His leading? If so, get ready—you are about to walk on water!
What a motivating book which opened my eyes to so many possibilities of different ways to serve God. A person does not need to take on a huge project in order to serve God, they can start out small and work their way up. Caroline’s book, Willing to Walk on Water, is an inspiration to me in stepping out of my own boat. I was amazed to see so many things about herself were so similar my own self. It was like seeing a faith-filled courageous side of myself. My eyes were glued to each and every page.
In addition to Caroline’s experiences, her book holds so many experiences of other people as well. These experiences describe how God directed each one into a life of serving Him and others. Mixed in with the experiences is related scripture that leads us back to the one we are to focus on in all of our circumstances. The scripture allows ourselves to be seen in a new way which relates our own duty to serve with that of the people within the Bible.
I highly recommend this book to all who may be unsure about taking that first step out of the boat and to those who have took the step out (reminding them why they did).
