Unglued Book Cover
Is it really possible to make raw emotions work for us instead of against us? Building on insights from her book Unglued, TerKeurst walks with you on a 60-day journey to break the cycle of exploding or “stuffing” your feelings. Each entry includes an opening Scripture, devotion, thought for the day, and closing prayer. 144 pages, softcover from Zondervan.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through HarperCollins Christian Publishers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The Unglued Devotional is meant to compliment the book Unglued. However, the Unglued Devotional can also be used separately. The devotional shows how our emotions lead us to react. Through bringing this fact to the surface, it walks us through the process of changing our reactions and other areas which have become unglued. For each devotional day there is a Bible verse, thought for the day, detail of Lysa TerKeurst’s own experiences and thoughts, and wraps up with strengthening prayer.

As I started to read the Unglued Devotional, I thought, “this is not about me”. Little did I know that this devotional was more about me than I imagined. Instead of taking in the content on a day-by-day basis, I jumped in with both feet. It uncovered many areas which needed a lot of transformation and change (areas which had not been seen so clearly before reading the devotional). It brought me closer to where I needed to be, in Jesus’ light and loving embrace.

I found that even though this devotional is directed towards women, its content is beneficial to all. I even started sharing its treasures with my husband. I would recommend this book to everyone.
