I Can Be Kind is a lift-the-flap children’s book for children ages 4-7. It provides positive “I can” statements for various good manners which I child can perform. Every other page has a flap which can be lifted to expand on the page’s illustrations and reveal a Scripture verse which goes along with that page’s good manners. The illustrations are full of color and demonstrate everyday situations which a child may be involved in.
I really liked the idea of the flap to be lifted. Sometimes the flap was a door and it was like opening the door to see the person/people on the other side, as well as the Scripture verse. However, my 2-year old is not quite ready for looking at this book, as he wants to open the flap on every page and then crinkle the pages. The book contains more illustration than text, I thought there would be a little more to the text content; it is very simplified (including the Scripture verse). I recommend I Can Be Kind.
