NKJV The Color Code Bible, Hardcover
By Thomas Nelson
The NKJV Color Code Bible uses a simple method that is relatable to a child’s learning skills and teaches them important concepts of Scripture through a color-code system. Verses are color-coded for God, Jesus, Sin, New Life, Faith Walk, Prayer, Praise, Thanksgiving, and Heaven. The colors are arranged in 7 topics to encourage the reader to put God’s word into their daily faith walk. Similar to the wordless book used for years by many groups, (including Child Evangelism Fellowship), and to the Rainbow Bible, in sharing the gospel, the topics/colors are:
- Gold: God
- Navy: Sin, evil
- Red: Jesus
- Orange: washed clean from sin, new life
- Green: growth in your new life as a Christian and Faith Walk
- Blue: Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving
- Purple: Heaven

The Color Code Bible enables teens and youth to learn about the Bible from its history to the ones who wrote it. In addition to learning about the Bible, teens and youth are provided with an easier way to find topics and subject matter which is relevant to their current need or inquiry. The Color Code Bible is able to do this with a thorough introduction and color coded highlights throughout all of God’s Word.
The introduction explains what the Bible is, displays the different categories of the books of the Bible [Books of Law, Books of History, Books of Poetry, Books of Prophecy, Minor Prophets, The Gospels, Church History, The Letters, and The Book of Prophecy. In addition to the books of the Bible, the introduction tells about 8 people who wrote the Bible. It also goes over the highlighted verses and the color meanings, which are found throughout the Bible; Green – Spiritual Growth/Living Your Faith, Blue – Prayer/Praise, Red – Jesus, Orange – Cleansed of Sin/New Life, Navy – Sin/Evil, Purple – Heaven, Gold – God. Each color code has its own index within the introduction section. There are also four different reading plans available to choose from.
Once the Bible reading has begun, each book of the Bible starts out with its own introduction; Author, Time, Key Verse, and Theme. There is also a ribbon place marker to keep the reader right on track. I recommend the Color Code Bible to all teens and youth who would like to study and read the God’s Word.
