What God’s Word says about gossip…

A perverse man spreads strife, And one who gossips separates intimate friends.(AMP, Proverbs 16:28)

You shall not go around as a gossip among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor [with slander or false testimony]; I am the Lord.(AMP, Leviticus 19:16)

And when one comes to see me, he speaks empty words, While his heart gathers malicious gossip [against me]; When he goes away, he tells it [everywhere].(AMP, Psalm 41:6)

He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets, But he who is trustworthy and faithful keeps a matter hidden.(AMP, Proverbs 11:13)
