Grant Mercy

Our God delivers mercy…

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy” (Psalms 103:8).

“And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation” (Luke 1:50).

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion” (Romans 9:15).

“And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments” (Deuteronomy 5:10).

“For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalms 100:5).

“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful” (Luke 6:36).

“Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy” (Romans 11:31).

All mighty God who is in Heaven, I ask that you grant this nation and people mercy.
For we are a wicked people
We have forsaken your ways
We have turned towards our own desires
We no longer look to you for answers,
but rather we look unto our own selves for the answers
We are blinded by the world’s truth and ways
We have become desensitized to the wrong in this world
We see the wrong as right and the right as wrong

Oh Lord please have mercy upon us
We have puffed ourselves up with pride
We no longer acknowledge our neighbor,
rather we only acknowledge ourselves
We are greedy, aspiring to gain it all

I ask you God that you may shed your light upon us
That your light may erase the darkness
and the unrighteousness it holds
Shower us with your love and comfort
For you are our Father
Help us to remember who we are
Help us to remember who you are

All powerful creator Jehovah
We need your mercy
We need you
Show us your mercy today,
that we may show mercy to others
as you show mercy to us

Forgive us our trespasses
Help us to forgive ourselves
May we forgive others as we are forgiven

Amen
